How to install Stats

Stats is developer utility. Treat this as an orientation note. Anything prescriptive should come from the maintainers directly.

How it gets there

Nothing universal applies here. Maintainers normally spell out the supported options, and the answer can differ between platforms and between releases.

Who is behind it

Day-to-day direction belongs to the maintainers. They set the roadmap, cut releases, and decide which platforms stay supported.

Before touching anything

Start from the support matrix. It narrows over time, and assumptions made years ago often no longer hold.

If something looks wrong

When results differ from expectations, check what is actually being picked up. Duplicate copies and stale caches are the usual explanation.

Scope of this site

Only text is published from this domain. Each project remains exactly where its authors put it.

Keeping environments clean

Isolating environments, whether with a version manager or per-project directories, removes a whole category of confusing behaviour later on.
